The Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) is the single regulator for financial services in Malta. Established on July 23, 2002 taking over supervisory functions previously carried out by the Central Bank of Malta, the Malta Stock Exchange and the Malta Financial Services Centre. The Authority is a fully autonomous public institution and reports to Parliament on an annual basis.


Investor Compensation Scheme

AKFX Financial Services Ltd is part of a client protection program
named Investor Compensation Scheme. They are safeguard
mechanisms against financial failure or insolvency cases.

It was established based on the EU Directive 97/9 on investor-
compensation schemes. It functions as a rescue fund of failed
investment firms for retail investors as well as smaller businesses,
charities and trusts.

The goal is to provide compensation to any Retail investor “who has
entrusted money or instruments to a license holder in connection with
licensed business.” The compensation is paid only if the license holder
ceases to conduct business due to financial difficulty or insolvency.

The compensation covers the lesser of ninety percent (90%) of all
claims by the investor or up to €20,000.

All payments are in the same currency as the investment. Investor may
only submit one claim regarding all investments in aggregate with the
license holder.

Segregation of Client's Funds

All client funds held by AKFX Financial Services Ltd comply with the
laws of Malta, MiFID regulations and the regulations of the Malta
Financial Services Authority (MFSA).

Your cleared balance (funds currently not margined by open positions)
is maintained in a segregated account, in compliance with approved
banks. They are collectively held together with other clients although
each account is always kept segregate. In the unlikely event that AKFX
Financial Services Ltd becomes insolvent, your funds would not be
available to its creditors.
